Instruction Price Value Very good
Review by Dee
I had something like this, but on more than one disk. This is handier. Still I would've liked the book itself rather than having to download it - that's why I gave it a "4" in price. I was learning Akuapem Twi, but had to give it up for different reasons, but still I wanted to keep up with the language for whenever my next visit to Ghana is. It was a pleasure while I was there to at least say a greeting in Twi.

I'm glad I purchased the Twi tapes. I had been looking for a self-teaching Twi language system for a while. They fit my needs. Now you need to come out with an advanced version, Twi II. Thanks.

Instruction Price Value Twi
Review by Yaw
I'm halfway through the course and so far I think it's great. I was born in Ghana and heard Fanti and Ashanti Twi growing up but never learned (growing up in the US). This course is allowing me to have conversations with my Mom in Ashanti Twi. It's better than the other intro courses that just teach phrases without the grammar lessons to help you form new sentences. I use the book and audio together, mostly listening to the audio in my ipod. It's a VERY tonal language so listening and practicing are the key. I recommend this to all my other friends and siblings. To nhoma yi ni Sua Twi!

Instruction Price Value Wonderful Product
Review by C.E.
It's a surprisingly easy way to learn some basic Twi. In terms of content, I had to listen to each lesson about 4 or 5 times before I really mastered it. But, when I went to Ghana, I was able to ask directions, ask for food and beer, tell a taxi driver where I wanted to go etc. (much to the amusement of every Twi speaker I met). As with learning most languages, it's one thing to be understood but quite another to understand any reply that comes back at you. This will help you to be understood - after that you are on your own. (But, since almost everyone in Ghana speaks good English, they will probably help you out). There is also a very useful text that accompanies the audio which lists every word or phrase used (in English-Twi and Twi-English) and tells you in which lesson it first appears. However, sometimes the speakers go fairly quickly and it's a little difficult to pick up what they are saying. I found it easier to look up the phrases in the book as they were being introduced, because seeing the words written down gave me more of an idea of the sounds I should be aiming for. In short, this course is a great place to start if you want to learn Twi.
